We are extremely proud to announce that our project for the environmental rehabilitation and redevelopment of the former Électrolux factory site in L’Assomption has been nominated this year for the Quebec Consulting Engineering Awards in the Environment category.
The Quebec Consulting Engineering Awards, organized by the Association des firmes de génie-conseil (AFG), highlight engineering expertise in the industry’s most outstanding projects. This prestigious competition provides an exceptional opportunity to acknowledge the added value consulting engineering brings to successful projects achieved through collaboration with clients.
Our nominated project spanned from the demolition of the factory in 2019 to the environmental rehabilitation of the site in 2021. The location will become home to an internationally recognized innovation zone in the field of agricultural technologies and plant-based bioproducts, Zone Agtech, which will include, among other features, the world’s largest rooftop greenhouse. Each phase of the project was carried out by Solmatech’s multidisciplinary teams with a commitment to correcting past mistakes and returning the land to public use in accordance with the highest standards of sustainable development.
We sincerely thank the team of over twenty professionals from various Solmatech divisions, including geotechnics, environmental services, materials engineering, industrial hygiene, geomatics, and technical staff, who successfully found solutions to the many challenges encountered throughout the project. The team’s motivation was strong and brought everyone together to meet the client’s quality, timeline, and budget objectives.
