Solmatech was commissioned by Carbonleo to carry out a comprehensive geotechnical study as part of the Royalmount project, which includes the design of a 180-metre-long skybridge spanning the Décarie Expressway.
Geotechnical investigation
This structural undertaking required meticulous planning, eight (8) boreholes down to bedrock, as well as close collaboration with project participants due to space, traffic, and safety constraints.
By applying a systematic approach, Solmatech provided the geotechnical recommendations necessary for the implementation of appropriate foundations (raft for the skybridge and caisson piles for the piers), thereby contributing to the development of an infrastructure that is resilient, safe, and compliant with the project’s requirements.
